It is 1889 and the age of steam is about to be revolutionised by an Engine driven by a new form of energy. But it seems that not everyone has in mind its peaceful application. Following a series of murders and the stealing of the Engine’s design, three seemingly incompatible people, led by the mysterious Jasper Rimes, are drawn together to investigate. Seeking an enemy who is unleashing supernatural forces, their trail leads them from Victorian London, across the Indian plains of the British Raj to the Paris of the Exposition Universelle, in a desperate bid to prevent catastrophe.

It is 1892 and following the discovery of a long-forgotten temple in the heart of the Mexican jungle, events have been unleashed that were long since prophesied. But just what is the strange beacon that sits at the temple’s apex? And what, exactly, is it summoning?
